Our History
Building differently for 3 generations
The history of Briand GROUP has evolved over the generations and in step with innovation. We have built our company on strong human values, an innovative vision of our business, and a firm commitment to building responsibly to protect future generations and the planet.
1745
Briand GROUP traces its origins back to the founding of the family-run forge, which has been passed down from father to son
1950
Anselme and Jeanne Briand launch their steel framework business
1981
Roger Briand takes over the running of the family business and establishes the Group
1993
Integration of the timber business, followed by the concrete business, to develop multi-material construction.
2007
Gil succeeds his father Roger as head of the Group and ushers in a new phase of growth

A presence in France and internationally
As a mid-sized French company, Briand GROUP also has an international presence. While primarily based in France, the Group also operates in Eastern Europe, Portugal, Italy, and France’s overseas territories. Our partnership with 2i, a company based in Côte d’Ivoire, also allows us to operate in Sub-Saharan Africa. Nearly 20% of Briand GROUP’s revenue is generated internationally.
Each division is driven by a strong, independent brand with its own governance, market positioning, and specific expertise. Our companies draw their strength from a shared DNA to tackle a wide variety of projects.
